Van Thi Pham, 69, of Berwick, transitioned to her new life with God on Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in Ninh Binh, Vietnam on October 9, 1954 to the late Hung and Hien Thi (Tran) Pham, she was the fourth of eleven brothers and sisters.
On June 9, 1973, Van wed the late Michael Kim Pham, with whom she would raise a family and share 48 years of marriage. Their journey together was filled with cherished memories and a deep sense of companionship.
Van worked at Wise Foods for 37 years, retiring in 2022. She attended St. Columba Catholic Church. An avid gardener, she could often be found working in her vegetable garden or tending to the many blooms in her flower beds. She was especially proud of her collection of orchids. In addition, she enjoyed cooking and finding new recipes. Her greatest joy, however, was her family, by whom she will be deeply missed. She will be remembered for her kind and generous nature and sweet disposition.
She is survived by her three children, Anthony, Ailien, and Alan; five brothers, Huynh, Quynh, Xuyen, Tuan, and Anh; brother-in-law, Tam; sister-in-law Loan; nephews Cuong and Andy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, Van was preceded in death by her brothers Thinh, Tiep, and Cuong, and sisters Thoa and Ngoc Bich.
A viewing for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Columba Catholic Church, 342 Iron St., Bloomsburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at St. Columba Catholic Church with Rev. Richard J. Mowery, Celebrant. Interment at Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg, will follow.
