Thomas Wilson Collins, 76 of Summerhill, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 1, 1940 in Sayre, a son to the late Brooks Collins, Sr. and Ethel (Wilson) Collins. Tom spent eight years in the Coast Guard before working as a mixer in the cement industry and as a crusher operator and maintenance worker at the Barletta Stone Quarry. Hunting, being outdoors, feeding birds, mowing his lawn, watching television, playing with his pet cat, Kat, and spending time with family and friends while having a beer, were what Tom most enjoyed. He was a member of VFW Post 8227 of Nescopeck, American Legion Post 273 of Bloomsburg, Berwick Ranger and Eagle Fire Companies, and the Berwick Russian Club. TC was full of life. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Surviving Tom is his loving wife of 53 years, the former Barbara Mae Barna. Also surviving are a daughter, Christina Collins of Berwick, step-son, William Creasy, Jr. of Berwick, nine grandchildren: Nichole, Douglas, Candace, Olivia, Reagan, Jennifer, Billy, Brandon, and Kaitlyn, sister, Linda McMurtrie of Mifflinville, sister-in-law, Janice, niece, Vicky Fields and her children Brittanny and Seth, and aunt, Marjorie. As well as his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Brooks and sister, Jackie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Dennis Dalessandro 10:00 AM Friday, May 27 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Berwick. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Military honors will be provided by a combined veterans group.
