Terry “Fritz” Hess, 71, of Bloomsburg, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born in Orangeville on March 15, 1949, he was a son to the late Edsel and Harriette (Bowman) Hess.
Terry was a graduate of Central Columbia High School, Class of 1969. Following graduation, he worked for Reichart’s Lumber Yard, Claster’s, and Kawneer, from which he retired after 41 years of employment. Terry was a social member of Bloomsburg VFW Post 804 and of Bloomsburg American Legion Post 273. He had also been a member of the Moose Lodge. Terry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed classic cars, NHRA drag racing, and NASCAR and was a railroad enthusiast.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Levan, with whom he had shared 23 years of companionship. Also surviving are his children: Amber Hess and Shon Hess; step-son: Scott Levan and companion Melody Zubler, granddaughters: Bella Hiltabidel and Aubrey Huss; siblings: Beatrice Long and husband, James, Edsel Craig Hess and wife, Lee, and David Dennis Hess and wife, Connie; his beloved dog, Oreo, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by siblings Ronnie Hess, Neil Hess, and Bonnie Jean (Hess) VanPelt.
All are welcome to join Terry’s family for visitation from 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick. His funeral service and interment at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Orangeville, will be private.
