Sheila A. Stout, 79, of Berwick, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born in Berwick on May 10, 1941, she was a daughter to the late Joseph and Marguerite (Caldwell) Horsefield.
Sheila was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1959. Shortly after graduation she wed Darvin L. Stout, Sr. Together they would share 24 years of marriage and raise their family. Sheila was a member of First United Methodist Church in Berwick. She had worked at Consolidated Cigar and then Berwick Offray, from which she retired in 2010. Sheila enjoyed watching her favorite television shows and taking nightly rides looking for deer. Her greatest joy was her family and time spent with them, especially playing cards and vacationing at the beach.
Surviving Sheila are her children: Cabyn Potter of Nescopeck, Pete Stout and wife, Lauree, of Berwick, Kelly Stout and wife, Susan, of Berwick, and Cricket Ladlee and husband, Dave, of Mountain Top; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her husband, Darvin L. Stout, Sr, who passed in 1983. She was also preceded by daughter: Crystal Busch; grandsons: Jason Potter and Travis Potter, and siblings: Jack Horsefield, Tom Horsefield, Joe Horsefield, Paul Horsefield, Coleen Kishbaugh, and Sharon Frey. She was the last of her siblings.
