Sally Wolfinger Obituary

Sally Ann Wolfinger, 84, of Berwick, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.  Born in Nescopeck on January 13, 1938, she was a daughter to the late Leonard and Hazel (Stroup) Wilkinson.

Sally was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1955.  On November 06, 1953, she wed the love of her life, Delmar Olen Wolfinger.  Together they raised their family, started and ran the family business, Wolfinger Homes, and shared 68 years of marriage.  Sally had been a long-time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.  She was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker.  She had been an avid bowler and enjoyed gardening and birdwatching.  Her greatest joy, however, was the time spent with her beloved family.

Surviving Sally is her husband, Delmar Olen Wolfinger.  She is also survived by her children:  Debra Taylor and husband, Harry David, of Berwick, Gary Wolfinger and wife, Amie, of Bloomsburg, and Carla Wolfinger and companion, Wade Prueitt, of Berwick; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and brother, Leonard E. Wilkinson.

In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Wilkinson.

Sally’s services will be private.  She loved animals and showed great compassion toward them.  As such,   memorial contributions in her name can be made to the Pennsylvania SPCA Danville Center, 1467 Bloom Rd, Danville, PA 17821.  The Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the Wolfinger family.  Online messages of comfort and support can be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com.
