Roland E. “Rollie” Kline, 86, of Berwick, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Elmcroft of Berwick. Born in Berwick on November 4, 1934, he was a son of the late John E. R. and Ruth (Adams) Kline.
Roland attended North Center Township School and graduated from Mifflinville High School, Class of 1953. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1964. On February 5, 1966, he wed the former Martha Cain, with whom he would share 43 years of marriage. Rollie had been employed by Wise Potato Chip, S & B Foundry, and the Berwick Area School District, where he had worked in the maintenance department for 23 years, until his retirement in June of 1997. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, where he had long been the janitor. Roland was an avid fan of Berwick Football and was a long-time holder of season tickets.
Surviving Roland are his children: Pauline Barton of Prattville, AL and Roland Kline, Jr. of Lordsburg, NM, seven grandchildren, and his companion, Marilyn Brown.
In addition to his parents, Roland was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Cain) Kline, who passed on August 2, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Kline.
All are welcome to join Roland for his funeral 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Bethany United Methodist Church, 116 Summerhill Avenue, Berwick. His Pastor, Rev. Stephen G. Portner, will officiate. Friends will be received from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery Annex, Walnut Street, will follow.
