Robert W. Van Pelt

Robert Van Pelt, 41, of Berwick, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Berwick Hospital Center.  Born in Berwick on October 9, 1980, he was the son of Kevin Van Pelt and wife, Lori, and Theresa (McHenry) Kandrot and husband, Peter.

Robert was a graduate of Berwick High School.  He furthered his education by completing courses at Luzerne County Community College.  Robert had worked at Tech Packaging and, later, IT Data.  He was passionate about computers and programming and was proud of his work in creating the website www.berwickdawgs.com, which he maintained for years.  He also enjoyed roller hockey and played in the Hazleton Street Hockey League.  His greatest joy was his family and friends and the time spent with them, whether playing cards or holding Friday night fire pit discussions.

In addition to his parents, Robert is survived by son, Robert Van Pelt of Berwick; daughter, Emmy Kelley of Nanticoke; grandmother, Doris Eroh of Berwick; siblings:  Angela Davis and husband, Patrick, of Berwick and Josh Harvey and wife, Shannon, of Berwick; step-siblings:  Scott Kandrot of Bloomsburg and Karen Whelan and husband, Ron, of Fort Collins, CO; ex-wife, Victoria Kelley, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
