Robert L. Sink, age 58, of Suwanee, Georgia, formerly of Berwick, PA, died December 31, 2021. Born October 24, 1963, he was the son of the late Randall Sink and the late Karleen Fuller. Affectionately known as Bob, he grew up in the Berwick area and graduated from Berwick High School, Class of 1982. He began his working career at Kentucky Fried Chicken and then Heinz Pet Foods where he was worked in the parts department. While employed at Heinz, he joined their softball team and spent many weekends playing on the team and having fun with co-workers and friends. He met and developed lifelong friendships with so many while working at KFC and Heinz.
To say that Bob was a motor head and classic car enthusiast is an understatement. His first classic car was a 1971 Chevelle and from there he grew to love all cars that were Chevrolet, last owning a classic Camaro convertible and a collectible Chevy SS that he proudly purchased from Rick Hendrick Chevrolet.
Bob was a NASCAR fan and collected anything and everything Dale Earnhardt Sr. One of his happiest moments as a NASCAR fan was meeting Dale Earnhardt Sr. and having his photo taken with him at Talladega Superspeedway. He visited DEI many times and photographed his various Chevrolets in front of the iconic entrance to DEI. His love of NASCAR and Chevrolets took him to Mooresville, North Carolina, where he worked for a group of car dealerships managing their auto detailing centers. Anyone who knew Bob knew he loved a clean car. No one came close to matching his skills for detailing a car.
Another life change took Bob from Mooresville NC to the greater Atlanta area where he worked as a parts manager for Sidel Corporation for over 17 years. His work at Sidel took him to many parts of the US and beyond, setting up and managing parts departments at various locations for Sidel.
Golf was another passion of Bob’s. He loved the game of golf and never turned down the opportunity to play.
He enjoyed hunting, attending car shows, PGA tournaments and NASCAR races, and playing pickleball. But his greatest joy was the birth of his daughters and his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Michelle Davis and her husband, Chris of Berwick, PA; his daughter, Nicole Sink of Fredericksburg, VA and 2 grandchildren, Conner and Lola Davis; sister, Sherri Tumolo and her husband, Jim of Orangeville, PA; and sister, Brenda Saba and her husband, David, of Dallas, PA. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Steve Keifer, Kathy Becker, Sterry Keifer, Carol Taranto and Gary Sink, and many nieces, nephews and 1st and 2nd cousins.
Predeceasing him in addition to his parents were his grandparents, Stanley (Melvin) and Grace Sink and Carl and Velma Keifer and his uncle, Kenneth Sink.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 2p.m. at Summerhill EUM Church, 157 Twin Church Road, Berwick, PA, with Pastor Deb Harvey presiding.
