Richard W. Knorr, 78, of Berwick, PA beloved, Husband, Father and Poppy completed his journey of life on Monday, December 13, 2021. Born in Berwick on October 25, 1943, he was a son to the late Larue and Anna (Fowler) Knorr.
Richard attended Berwick Area Schools and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He had been a longtime delivery driver for Dalo’s Bakery, retiring from Don Bower, Inc. Richard was a true craftsman of may trades, making woodworking for his family to car restoration. He enjoyed hot rods, especially the 1936 Chevy pickup that he built, drag racing and car shows. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, campfires, and family picnics at Ricketts Glenn State Park. He cherished family reunions and early morning breakfasts with his children, brothers, and nephews of sour dough pancakes. Richard enjoyed mowing and was part of the Wheel Horse club.
Richard was united in marriage to his beloved wife Mary Lu (formerly Zaikoski) Knorr for 31 years, they were separated by death only by a few hours.
He is survived by six children, Franklin (Lisa) Knorr of Orangeville, Christopher (Shannon) Knorr of Celina, TX, Stephen Knorr of Nescopeck, Angel(Lyle) Eckrote of Berwick, Dani (Bryan) Carro of Berwick, Marcey (Marc) Newman of Berwick; 11 grandchildren; siblings Robert Knorr of Kingman, AZ and Clayton Knorr of Berwick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by siblings: Phyllis Kemp, Carol Whitmire, Larue Knorr, Louise Munoz, Mariam Boudman, John Knorr and William “Brooks” Knorr.
