SFC Paul A. Loff, 79, of Mifflinville, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022 at his home. Born in Archbald on December 25, 1942, he was a son to the late Frank and Helen (Bogoslawski) Loff.
Paul was a graduate of Archbald High School, Class of 1960. In 1966 he wed the love of his life, the former Shirley Brozina. Together they shared 49 years of marriage, traveled the world, and raised their family. Paul proudly served in the United States Army from 1962-1982. He served two tours in Vietnam and had been a Gold Badge Recruiter. He retired having attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. Paul attended St. Columba Catholic Church. He was an avid woodworker and his projects can be found throughout the homes of his family. He also enjoyed bowling and gardening. Paul was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. His greatest joy was his family, by whom he will be deeply missed.
Paul is survived by his sons: Paul J. Loff of Wilkes-Barre and Jeffrey Loff and wife, Michelle, of Mainville; daughters: Cheri Lanza and husband, Peter, of Bloomsburg and Tracey Bailey and husband, Sam, of Nescopeck; grandchildren: Allison Sheehe, Seth Loff, Austin Miknich, Elise Bailey, Kendra Loff, Katie Bailey, Petey Lanza, and Zach Bailey; great-grandchildren: Carter, Norah, Rory, and Carsyn; siblings: Rose Franchak, Viola Krzywiec, and Stanley Loff and wife, Lorraine; sister-in-law, Marilyn Loff; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley A. Loff, who passed away September 27, 2015. He was also preceded in death by siblings: Vincent Loff, Joseph Loposky, Gregory Loff, Walter Loff, Mildred Zurek, Alice Petorak, and Helen Simon.
All are welcome to join Paul’s family for visitation 5-7 PM Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick. A graveside service will be held 11 AM Thursday, February 24 at the Mifflinville Cemetery. Reverend William T. Barbee will officiate.
