Patricia Azalea (Pruitt) Polk

Patricia “Patti” Azalea (Pruitt) Polk, 66, of Berwick, went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 14, 2021.  Patti was born on January 29, 1955, daughter to the late Robert and Elriechia “Rickie” (Hardiman) Pruitt.

Patti attended Berwick Area School District and graduated with the class of 1972.  Patti moved to Erie, PA, where she was employed as an underwriter by Erie Insurance for more than 40 years, achieving the position of Senior Underwriter.  It was in Erie where Patti met and married the loved of her life, William Polk.  They wed on June 30, 1990 and lived a happy life together until his death in August of 2010.  She had been a member of First Baptist Church in Berwick.  Patti loved to read, do word and crossword puzzles, and cook.  She belonged to many local social organizations, including the Berwick Russian Club, The American Ukrainian Club, the Slavonic Club, and the Catholic War Veterans.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Polk.  She was also preceded by her brother, Lt. Colonel Larry H. Pruitt, and her companion, Vaughn Scrip.

Patti will be sadly missed by her sisters:  Susan Hayes (Bobby) of Berwick and Carla Hayes (Stanley) of Berwick; brothers:  Kermit Johnson (Sallie) of Berwick, Robert Pruitt, Jr. of Berwick, Jonathan Pruitt (Tina) of Berwick, Carl Pruitt of Berwick, and Ronald “Boo” (Polly) Pruitt of Nescopeck; a special aunt, Linda Jones of Harrisburg, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
