Lucy Regina (Montecalvo) Volpicelli, 100, of Berwick, passed away October 6, 2021 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born in Berwick on September 19, 1921, she was a daughter to the late Antonio and Antoinette (DiMauro) Montecalvo.
Lucy attended Berwick Area Schools. On December 1, 1945, she wed the love of her life, the late Albert V. Volpicelli. Together they raised their family and shared 49 years of marriage. Lucy was a faithful member of St. Joseph Parish in Berwick. She had devoted her life to her faith and to her family. Mrs. Volpicelli had also been a member of the Garibaldi Society. Lucy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had also been an avid card player, playing with her family and friends on nearly every Sunday.
Surviving Lucy are her daughters: Roseanne Minier and Joselle Nutaitis, both of Berwick; grandchildren: Tom and Anthony Minier, Lauren Myers, Rashko and Tony Nutaitis, and Theresa Terry; great-grandchildren: Michael, Joseph, Christopher, Raven & Byron Terry and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert V. Volpicelli, who passed away June 18, 1995. Also preceding her were sisters: Grace, Erminie, and Gloria and brothers: Nick, George, and Mike.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 Noon on Friday, October 15, 2021 at St. Joseph Parish, 721 Monroe Street, Berwick. Her Pastor, Reverend William T. Barbee will officiate as Celebrant. Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of the Mass. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Berwick, will follow.
