Grace Ann DeMarco

Grace Ann DeMarco, 88, of Berwick, died Sunday morning, June 25, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born January 21, 1935 in Dunmore, Lackawanna County, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Louise Manganaro DeMarco.

She was a 1952 graduate of Berwick High School.

Grace retired from Milco Industries and had also previously worked for the Berwick AC&F and the Baronal Sewing Factory in Berwick. 

She had been a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Berwick and had also attended the New Hope Christian Church in Lime Ridge.

Gracie was a “one of a kind” woman and mother admired by many.  She was strong and straightforward and made sure that everybody ate.

Surviving are her children:  David DeMarco and his wife, Patricia, of Oneida Castle, NY; Michael DeMarco and his wife, Shellie, of Lime Ridge; Carla Richardson, of Abingdon, MD; Christine DeMarco, of Boulder, CO; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a brother, James DeMarco and his wife, Carolyn, of Berwick.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers:    Angelo, Raymond and Joseph DeMarco; sisters:  Louise Morris, Rose DeMent and Maria DeMarco, who died in infancy. 

Services will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 11 AM at the Kelchner-McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 East Third Street, Berwick, with Rev. Vincent N. Keister, officiating.  The Family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 on Saturday at the Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
