Georgia A. (Samsel) Bellum, 76, of Berwick, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Born in Berwick on October 5, 1946, she was a daughter to the late Kenneth and Hannah (Allen) Samsel.
Mrs. Bellum attended Berwick Area Schools. She had been employed by Berwick Knitting and, later, by Berwick Offray, from which she retired. Georgia enjoyed listening to music and going to concerts, especially the Vicksburg Quartet. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, coloring, and reading, particularly the horror genre. Her greatest joy, however, was her family and the time spent with them.
Surviving Georgia are her son, John Bellum and wife, Sheila, of Bloomsburg; grandchildren: Brandi Hunsinger and husband, Dylan, Chandler Bellum, and Chase Bellum, all of Bloomsburg; siblings: Edna Whitenight, Avis Devine, and Gail Ogin and husband, Leroy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by son, Richard Bellum, and siblings: Kenneth Samsel, Sandra Culver, and Thomas Samsel.
All are welcome to join Georgia’s family for her graveside memorial service 11 AM Monday, August 21, 2023 at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Berwick. Pastor William Klebe will officiate.
