Fay Audrey (Yeager) Bittenbender, 82, of Lime Ridge, passed away peacefully Monday, July 3, 2023 at her home with family at her side. Born in Nescopeck on July 4, 1940, she was a daughter to the late Cleo H. and Irene F. (Sitler) Yeager.
Fay was a graduate of Central Columbia High School, Class of 1958. She continued her education at Bloomsburg State College. Fay held positions at several local businesses including Consolidated Cigar, Fulton Lamp Company, the Berwick Hospital, and Merck, from which she retired. She had also driven school bus in her retirement. She was a member of Goldwing Road Riders Association, Elks BPO Berwick Lodge #1138, the Moose, and was a social member of Mifflin Township Forest Rangers. She enjoyed spending time outside, especially arrowhead hunting, and volunteered at Animal Resource Center. Fay loved spending time with her beloved family, by whom she will be greatly missed.
Fay is survived by her daughter, Debra Walker of Berwick; grandsons: Travis Petty and wife, Sarah, of Berwick and Cory Roach and wife, Kris Schmidt; great-grandsons: Jack Petty and Ben Petty; brothers: Larry Yeager and Dennis Yeager; several nieces and nephews, and her cat, Bitsy.
In addition to her parents, Fay was preceded in death by daughter, Louise Ann Roach; son-in-law, Andy Walker; sister, Saundra Yoder; and sisters-in-law: Mary Ann Yeager and Ele Yeager.
All are welcome to join Fay’s family for her funeral service 11 AM Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 East Third Street, Berwick. Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions in Fay’s name can be made to the Animal Resource Center, PO Box 439, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.
