Catherine I. Sitler, 90, of Foundryville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the Berwick Hospital Center. Born in Berwick on July 28, 1930, she was a daughter to the late Barton and Evelyn (Cope) Hough.
Catherine was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1948. In 1951 she wed the late Alvin E. Sitler, with whom she would raise her family and enjoy 62 years of marriage. Catherine was a member of Foundryville United Methodist Church. She and good friend Debbie Yohey were sure to attend every service that they were able to. She also enjoyed shopping at Boscov’s and dining at May’s Drive-In. Catherine’s greatest joy, however, was her family, by whom she will be sorely missed.
Surviving Catherine are her children: Alvin Sitler, Jr. and wife, Carol, Donna Burlingame, Debra Arner and husband, Rick, and James Sitler and wife, Wanda; grandchildren: Dianna, Denise, Amy, Stacy, Michelle, and Breanne; her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Hazel Eckart and Shirley Larock; and brother: Barton Hough, Jr.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin E. Sitler, who passed away August 6, 2013. She was also preceded by grandson: Christopher Arner; sister: Clara Jean Smith; and brother: Wayne Hough.

All are welcome to join Catherine’s family for her funeral at 11 AM Friday, July 30, 2021 at Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick. Pastor Mike Delp, Commonwealth Hospice Chaplain, will officiate. Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of her funeral service.
