Beverly Gross Obituary

Beverly Dawn Davis Gross, 89, of Dallas, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dallas.

Born Aug. 21, 1932, in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late Harvey R. and Martha E. Kile Davis.

She was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1950.

She was a member of the Dallas United Methodist Church. She previously served for a number of years as either treasurer, financial secretary or recording secretary for the Shoemaker Memorial United Methodist Church, West Wyoming.

She had been employed by J.J. Newberry Co., Berwick; Levittown Home Improvement Co.; Sears Roebuck Co., Levittown; and Jewelcor, Wilkes-Barre.

She and her husband, George W. Gross, were married for 70 years.

Beverly loved the spring and summer, which brought along fishing, hiking, camping and golfing. Her most memorable afternoons were spent on the golf course with her husband, her children, and friends. Camping was nights around the camp fire with friends, or playing Pinochle.

After retirement, she and her husband did extensive traveling in the United States, Europe, Aruba and the Canary Islands.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters: Elaine Wagner and Doris Bower.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son, G. David Gross, and wife, Maryann, of Rochester, N.Y.; daughter, Debra Ann Gross Wardach, and husband, Charles, of Big Bass Lake; granddaughter, Caitlin M. Gross, of Rochester, N.Y.; brother, Loren R. Davis, of Berwick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third St., Berwick. Pastor David Walker of the Dallas United Methodist Church will officiate. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 15, and from noon until the time of the service on Monday, May 16. Interment at the Pine Grove Cemetery Annex on Walnut Street will follow. Online messages of comfort and support can be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com
