Betty L. Clemens, 90, formerly of Berwick and a resident at Maria Joseph Manor Danville, died Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville. She was born November 24, 1928 in Fairfield, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Peter C. and Alice Spangler Musselman. Betty graduated from Fairfield High School in 1946. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Berwick. Attending jazz festivals and playing bridge until her eyesight began to fail were among the things Betty most enjoyed doing. Most importantly however; Betty was a homemaker who loved going to the New Jersey shore and spending time with her family. She was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be sorely missed by all who ever knew her. Surviving Betty are three children: Susan Hartzel and husband, Charles of Millville, Gregory B. Clemens and wife, Lori of Berwick, and Fred J. Clemens and wife, Dawn of Folsom, CA.; eight grandchildren: Stacey Potora, Cindy DeMott, Charles Hartzel IV, Jennie Puderbaugh, Erin Pauling, Tara Batiuk, Stephanie Clemens, and Freddie Clemens ; eleven great-grandchildren: Tate and Luke Potora, Jac and Tucker Demott, Abigayle Hartzel, Charlie and Franki Puderbaugh, Kegan Perry, Adalynn and Asher Batiuk, and Eliza Pauling; and two brothers: James and Richard Musselman, both of FL. Betty was preceded in death August 9, 1977 by her loving husband, Dr. Fred B. Clemens, who succumbed to injuries after his airplane crashed July 30, 1977. Additionally preceding Betty in death were sons: Philip A. and Geoffrey S. Clemens, brother, Kenneth Musselman, and sisters: Lucille Knox, Jean Irvin, Evelyn Cromwell, and Dorothy Fink. A memorial service for Betty will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1600 Fowler Ave., Berwick. Pastor David Kingsborough will serve as the officiant. Inurnment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
