Barbara J. Fowler, 81, of Mifflinville and formerly of Berwick, passed away peacefully in her home and among her family Sunday, January 24, 2021. Born in Berwick on February 3, 1939, she was a daughter to the late Claude and Geraldine (Harvey) Lamoreaux.
Barbara attended Harter High School in West Nanticoke. In 1959 she wed Norman Fowler, Sr., with whom she would raise her family and share 50 years of marriage. Barbara was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and had been a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary in Berwick. She enjoyed Bingo and playing card and computer games. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time with and babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Barbara are her children: Norma Guire and husband, Bob, of Berwick, Norman Fowler, Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Berwick, Debra Lamb of Berwick, Brenda Albertson and boyfriend, Todd Steinruck, of Lapport, Bradley Fowler of Berwick, Brian Fowler of Berwick, Diane Brought and husband, Russell, of Berwick, Roseann Tyson and husband, Chuck, of Bloomsburg, Tara Myers of Hunlock Creek, Chad Fowler of Berwick, Todd Fowler of Berwick, Randi Day and boyfriend, Keith Kerstetter, of Mifflinville, and Kimberly Fowler of Berwick; 37 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; siblings: Frances Gola of Berwick and Curtis Lamoreaux of West Nanticoke, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by daughter: Tracy Bartlow, and siblings: Wayne Lamoreaux and Gladys Spencer.
All are welcome to join Barbara’s family for her viewing from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick, with her graveside service to follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick, at 11:30 AM. Pastor Mike Delp, Commonwealth Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.
