Anna M. (Mcguigan) Gray

May 14, 1933 — August 15, 2024

Berwick

Anna M. (McGuigan) Gray, 91, of Berwick peacefully passed away at home on August 15, 2024 surrounded by her four loving children and family.

Born in Philadelphia, May 14, 1933, she was a daughter of the late John J. McGuigan, Sr. and Florence Malone McGuigan. She attended Good Shepard Catholic Elementary School and graduated from West Philadelphia Girls Catholic High School in Philadelphia.

After graduating high school, Ann began working in the Procurement Office at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. During that time, she made frequent trips to Berwick to visit her sister and nephews where she met the love of her life the late William “Bill” Gray. They married in 1952 at her home parish, Good Shephard Catholic Church, in Philadelphia. Then, the couple took up residence in Berwick.

Ann’s life’s focus was being a loyal wife and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She and her late husband founded Gray Furniture and Appliance store on December 7, 1956. She was the ultimate multi-tasker, raising a family and working alongside her husband in their business. As their family and business grew, Ann brought grace to life through her daily guidance, patience, and perseverance. Most importantly, she taught those around her the value of keeping a positive attitude and maintaining a sense of humor. Ann was both the keystone of the family and a model for others to emulate.

Ann never sought to shine the light on herself but rather on those around her. She was known for her strong faith in God and her unwavering dedication to her family. Ann was a long-time member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Berwick. She lived out her faith through her involvement in many church activities. Ann lived true to her values and her love and kindness extended to every facet of her life.

Ann is survived by her four children, William M.  (Kathy) of Covington, LA, Michael John (Tina) of Berwick, PA, Thomas J. (Salli Nasatka), of Berwick ,PA and daughter Kelly (John Hobbis) of Berwick, PA. Ann was blessed with eight grandchildren, Elisabeth Laborde and Caroline Yates of Covington, LA, Michael Gray of Berwick, PA Andrew Gray of Beverly, MA, Jonathan Gray of Mechanicsburg, PA, Christopher Gray of Washington, DC and Kaitlin and Kristin O’Reilly of St. Petersburg, FL. She was also blessed with five great grandchildren, Charlotte and Wills Laborde and Eloise and Millie Yates of Covington, LA and Madelynn Grace Gray of Berwick, PA. Ann was loved dearly by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, of 58 years, her siblings, Florence Dellegrotti, John, Joseph, and Harry McGuigan and Theodore Sinko, bothers-in-law John and Joseph Gryshuk.
