William H. Schell, Sr.

William H. Schell, Sr., 75, of Berwick, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Berwick Hospital Center.  Born in Atlantic City, NJ on February 1, 1946, he was a son to the late William J. and Magdalene E. (Schwanger) Schell.

William proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.  On April 5, 1975, he wed the love of his life, the former Donna J. Sponenberg.  Together they shared 46 years of marriage and raised their family.  William attended Immaculate Conception BVM Church.  He had been employed by Berwick Forge and Fabricating.  William had also done lawn mower and small engine repair work.  He enjoyed playing computer games, listening to music, watching movies, attending flea markets, bingo, and he loved animals.  William enjoyed spending time outdoors; hunting and fishing.  Family was very important to him, and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving William is his loving wife, Donna J. Schell.  He is also survived by his children:  William H. Schell, Jr. of Berwick, Dawn E. Bewley and husband, Joseph, of Catawissa, Theresa A. Schell of Berwick, Christopher D. Schell of Berwick, and Kyle M. Schell and wife, Brittany, of Berwick; his 8 grandchildren and a great-grandchild, and several cousins.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a great-grandchild and siblings:  Joseph Schell and Katherine Schell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 Noon Friday, December 3, 2021 at Immaculate Conception BVM Church, 1730 Fowler Avenue, Berwick.  Reverend William T.
