William E. “Bill” Hunter, 87, of Nescopeck, died peacefully Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Glen Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Berwick. Born in Berwick on July 24, 1937, he was a son to the late Willard and Florence (Masteller) Hunter.
Mr. Hunter attended Berwick Area Schools and proudly served in the Unted States Coast Guard. On February 24, 1959 he wed the love of his life, the former Alice F. Siegfried. Together they raised their family and shared 66 years of marriage. Bill was a long-time employee of Wise Potato Chip Company, from which he retired after 40 years of service. He also worked at Berwick Forge and Foundry and Knorr Construction. He was an avid hunter, who especially enjoyed coyote hunting. Bill raised and trained Bluetick Coonhounds that frequently accompanied him on his hunts. He also found great joy in tending his garden.
Surviving Bill are his beloved wife, Alice F. (Siegfried) Hunter; children: Karen Eroh (Scott), Donna McGlynn, and Kevin Hunter (Luis); grandchildren: Shannon Seigfreid Thomas (Jason), Laura Seigfreid Seward (Jeremy), Darren McGlynn, and Diana McGlynn Michel (Sean); great-grandchildren: Hunter Palko, Emily Seward, Owen Seward, Liam Michel, and Lincoln Michel; and great-great-granddaughter, Kasey Palko.
Bill was preceded in death by his siblings: Marion Hunter, Eleanor (Hunter) Kishbaugh, Richrd Hunter, Janice (Hunter) Harmon, Kenneth Hunter, and Linda (Hunter) Kobeck; and son-in-law, Donald McGlynn.
