William D. Coughlin

William D. Coughlin, 64, of Berwick, passed away peacefully with his family at his side Tuesday, December 3, 2013. He was born August 10, 1949 in Bridgeport Connecticut, a son of the late Robert D. and Elizabeth (Shamey) Coughlin. Golf was Bill\'s passion. He was the Assistant Golf Professional at the Penn State University White Course and the Head Golf Professional for years at the Berwick Golf Club. Later, he worked as a salesman at the Zeisloft Brothers FLM car dealership in Berwick. Woodworking and traveling to Pittsburgh to golf with his son were among his most favorite things to do. He was a former member of the PGA of America and the Berwick Elks. Surviving Bill is his loving and devoted wife of forty-one years, the former Linda Dart. Also surviving are his son, Peter and his wife, Jamie of Pittsburgh, brother, Gary R. and his wife, Esther of Ohio, sister, Sheryl Elizabeth Ford and her husband, Dr. Martin Ford of Virginia, father-in-law and mother-in -law, Dick and Bev (Stone) Dart of Connecticut, and sister-in-law, Debbie Bodemer and her husband, Jeff of Virginia. Visitation will be 4-6 PM Thursday December 5, 2013 at the McMichael-Rairigh & Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. His funeral service immediately following. Pastor Mike Delp will serve as the officiant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent either to Commonwealth Hospice of Berwick, 6850 Lows Road, Suite 102, Bloomsburg, PA. 17815 or to the California University of Pennsylvania Golf Team, 250 University Ave., California, PA. 15419.
