Walter Sheffler, Sr.

Walter B. Sheffler, Sr., 75 of Berwick, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2014 with his family at his side. He was born January 7, 1939 in Tunkhannock. A graduate in the Tunkhannock High School Class of 1957, he served in the Army Reserve until 1965, when he was honorably discharged. Walt was a barber in Tunkhannock until joining the local union as a boiler maker. He also worked as a foreman of the custodial crew at PPL for many years. After retiring he worked part-time for the Berwick School District. Walt enjoyed being outdoors, swimming, working in his yard, and most of all, being with and loving his family. Surviving Walt are his best friend and companion, Dorothy Kishbaugh, sons, David of Shickshinny and Walt, Jr. of Florida, grandsons, Tristan and Seth, and sisters, Marian Marabell and Florence Smalser and her husband, Robert, all of Tunkhannock. Preceding Walter in death were his parents, Ethel and Sherwood Sheffler and a brother, Robert. At his request, there will be no services.
