Thomas J. Leiby

Thomas J. Leiby, 72, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 23, 2021 at St. Thomas Post-Acute and Rehabilitation Center in Berwick.  Born in Berwick on June 27, 1948, he was a son to the late Melvin E. and Dorothy (Allen) Leiby.

Thomas was a graduate of Central Columbia High School, Class of 1966.  On September 23, 1967, he wed the former Virginia Mowery.  Together they would raise their family and share 53 years of marriage.  Thomas had been employed Bloomsburg Mills and Briar Knitting, from which he retired in 2011.  He enjoyed computers and spent many hours building are repairing them at his home.

Surviving Thomas are his loving wife, Virginia; children:  Thomas J. Leiby, Jr. and wife, Michelle, of Berwick, James L. Leiby and wife, Melissa, of Millville, and Deanna M. Swist and husband, Michael, of Stillwater; daughter-in-law:  Amber Leiby; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, with a ninth on the way.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Atlee E. Leiby, and a sister, Sandy, who died in infancy.
