Theodore E. Boone

Theodore E. Boone, 90, of Berwick, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021.  Born in Lime Ridge on December 3, 1930, he was a son to the late Alvin Boone and Jennie (Boon) Boone.

Theodore attended the Centre School.  In 1950, he enlisted in the US Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean War.  On October 23, 1952, Theodore married the love of his life, the former Jean E. Bailey.  Together they would raise their family and share nearly 69 years of marriage.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Berwick and also attended Berwick Christian Church.  Theodore worked at Wise Foods in Berwick for more than 40 years prior to his retirement in 1993.  In his free time, he enjoyed yard sales, word finds, flower gardening, and country and gospel music.  His greatest joy was his family.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, all of whom will fondly remember him and his fantastic sense of humor.

Surviving Theodore is his loving wife, Jean E. (Bailey) Boone.  Also surviving are his children:  Jane E. Boone of Bloomsburg, Eugene A. Boone and wife, Jane, of Nescopeck, Ronald L. Boone and wife, Brenda, of Nanticoke, Janice L. Smith and husband, Philip, of Montoursville, and Joy A. Creasy and husband, Jeff, of Berwick; grandchildren:  Jason, Laura, Melody, Kevin, Charlie, and Charity; and great-grandchildren:  Andrew, Madison, Bradley, McKenna, and Acadia.

In addition to his parents, Theodore was preceded in death by grandchildren:  Matthew and Nicholas; great-grandchild, MacKenzie; and his eight siblings.

All are welcome to join Theodore’s family for his funeral service at 11 AM Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick.  His family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Interment at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick, will follow.  Memorial contributions in Theodore’s name can be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing.  Online messages of comfort and support can be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com.
