Steven Paul Klinger, 38 of Berwick, passed away after an illness Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born July 5, 1976 in Berwick, the son of Christopher and Carol (Harter) Klinger. A graduate of Columbia Montour Vo Tech, Steven worked as a certified welder for years before serving as a part-time police officer with the Dallas, PA. and Scott Township(Columbia County) Police Departments. He also recently completed the requirements for becoming a CNA. Steven served as a fireman with the Nescopeck Borough Volunteer Fire Company- Station 159. His likes and interests included playing goalie on ice hockey teams, following the Pittsburgh Penguins, the NFL, especially the New York Giants, and monster truck shows. Steven was a kind and loving man who loved to serve people. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. As well as his mother, Carol, he is survived by his girlfriend, Tammy Benscoter of Nescopeck and his sister, Crystal Eisenhauer and her husband, John of Berwick. Preceding Steven in death were his father, Christopher and his beloved dachshund, "Jack." Visitation is 4:00-6:00 PM Sunday December 14 at the Bower Memorial United Methodist Church, 140 E. 2nd St., Berwick. A memorial service will follow immediately after at the church. Graveside services are 11:00 AM Monday at Pine Grove Cemetery, Market Street, Berwick. Pastor Ralph Hartenbaugh will serve as the officiant. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to the Nescoperck Borough Fire Company, 325 Warren St., Nescopeck, PA. 18635
