Stephen Laubach, 79, of Berwick, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024 at Glen Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Berwick. Born in Berwick on July 19, 1945, he was a son to the late Carl M. and Martha E. (McElwee) Laubach.
Mr. Laubach was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1965. On July 14, 1969 he wed the former Mary Jane Lewis, with whom he would share 56 years of marriage. He worked his entire life, wholeheartedly, at the family business, CM Laubach and Sons. Many Berwick residents held their first jobs there, Steve having given them a chance. He was an avid pheasant hunter who took great pride in his English Setters. In his younger years, he was a dirt track racer, competing in the modified class. For the past 19 years, Steve courageously battled cancer. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, by whom he will be remembered fondly for the kind and caring man he was.
Steve is survived by his daughter, Stevi Vandermark and husband, Joseph, of Bloomsburg; grandchildren: Laurel Vandermark and Emmett Vandermark, both of Bloomsburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jane (Lewis) Laubach, who passed away September 10, 2024. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, David and Timothy Laubach.
All are welcome to join Steve’s family for his graveside memorial service 11 AM Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Pine Grove Cemetery Annex, Walnut Street. Pastor George Price will officiate.
