Sherry (Barnes) Evans

February 6, 1958 — November 19, 2020

Stillwater

Sherry Ruth (Barnes) Michael Evans, 62, of Stillwater, went home to her Lord and Savior Thursday, November 19, 2020 with her family at her side.  Born in Berwick on February 6, 1958, she was a daughter to the late John I. and Ruth E. (Harter) Barnes.

Sherry was a graduate of Central Columbia High School, Class of 1976.  She had worked at K-Mart, Nichols Department Store, T&L Miller Trucking, and the Columbia County Assessment Office and Tax Claim Bureau.  Sherry had spent a decade living in San Antonio and while there worked for Rinker Materials Hydro Conduit while also attending night courses to earn her Associates Degree.  She enjoyed reading and collecting books.  Sherry also loved quilting and had been a member of the American Quilters Society.

Sherry is survived by step-son:  Robert Evans and wife Veronica, of Danville;  step-grandchildren:  Alexis and Angelina Evans; brothers:  John M. Barnes and Edward R. I. Barnes, both of Bloomsburg; step-brothers:  David Duncan and Charles Pappone; step-sisters:  Cindy and Linda; and a large extended family consisting of the Barnes, Michael, and Evans families.

In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Richard Evans, who passed May 18, 2018.  Also preceding her was her step-mother:  Velma R. Barnes, and step-brothers:  Robert Pappone and Tom Pappone.

All are welcome to join Sherry’s family for her viewing from 6-8 PM Tuesday, November 24 at Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E Third Street, Berwick.  Sherry’s graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 25 at Rose Lawn Cemetery.  Rev.
