Sheldon A. Norris

Sheldon A. Norris, 84, of Berwick, passed away suddenly Monday, July 28, 2025 at his home. Born in Bloomsburg on October 29, 1940, he was a son to the late Frances (Casey) Norris.

Mr. Norris attended Bloomsburg Area Schools and continued his education at Stevens Trade School. He was a long-time employee of Vaughn’s Bakery (and the subsequent Meier’s Bakery), from which he retired. He had also worked at the Capitol Theater and Bower Bus Company. For many years, he captained a paddle boat in Arizona and operated boats utilized to inspect the Hoover Dam. Sheldon was a life member of the Lebanon Valley Motorcycle Club and a member of the American Motorcycle Association. In addition to motorcycling, he was a ham radio enthusiast and enjoyed keeping aquariums. He and his family enjoyed many times together, including their regular trips to Englishtown for the truck drag races.

Surviving Sheldon are his children: Angela L. Norris of Bloomsburg, Michelle L. Leiby and husband, Tom, of Berwick, and Valerie Slade; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Sheldon E. Pettaway of Elmira, NY and Kevin M. Leiby and wife Nicole, of Bloomsburg; and sisters: Chris Hunt of NC, Jane Kelly of Washington, DC, and Elizabeth Norris of Lightstreet.

In addition to his mother, Sheldon was preceded in death by his beloved companion of 19 years, Gloria D. Davis, and children: A. Casey Norris and Kevin L. Davis.

All are welcome to join Sheldon’s family for his Funeral Service 11 AM Monday, August 4, 2025 at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc. 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick. Reverend William T. Barbee will officiate. Friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery Annex will follow. Memorial contributions in Sheldon’s name may be made to the Lebanon Valley Motorcycle Club, 11 South 22nd Street, Lebanon, PA 17042.
