Sally A Zimmerman, 71 of Nescopeck, died peacefully Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Berwick Retirement Village after courageously battling cancer for the past two years. She was born January 23, 1943 in Berwick, the daughter of the late William X. and Esther Mae (Summers) Ash. Sally was a homemaker for most of her life, however; she did work at Elan Memorial Park for eight years. Her likes included crocheting, flower gardening, knitting, and quilting. Taking motorcycle rides with her husband, Guy also was an activity that she enjoyed. Most of all, Sally was a family oriented lady who loved any activity that included her husband, children and grandchildren. Her loving smile and kindness will be greatly missed. Surviving Sally are her husband of forty-one years, Guy, son, Franklin Hunsinger, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Berwick, daughter, Beth Ann Enslin and her husband, David of Berwick, grandchildren, Tiffany Hunsinger, Doyle McCarty, and Josh Wenner and his wife, Nicole, brothers, Larry X. Ash and his wife, Lenora of Connecticut and William X. Ash, Jr. and his wife, Laurie of Washingtonville, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. As well as her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, James McCarty. Visitation is 6:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, November 11 at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Her funeral is 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Mike Delp will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at the Mifflinville Cemetery.
