Ruth R. Fenstemaker, 96, of Berwick, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Gardens at Orangeville, where she recently had been admitted. She was born in Berwick October 12, 1922, a daughter of the late Frank and Geraldine (Bomboy) Rough. Ruth spent most of her life in Berwick. After graduation from Berwick High School in 1940, she worked as a secretary at Lady Esther in Berwick before retiring in 1984. Ruth was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She also belonged to the Eastern Star. Ruth was a private person who mostly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially summers with her in-laws at their cottage along Fishing Creek. She also was a NASCAR racing fan. A kind and loving lady, Ruth will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Surviving Ruth is her daughter, JoAnn Kishbaugh and husband, Ronald of Berwick, son, Neil J. Fenstemaker and wife, Janet of Mt. Joy, 7 grandchildren: Heather, Stacey, Robert, Lara, Scot, Jeremy, and Kimberly, and 9 great-grandchildren. As well as her parents, Ruth was preceded in death in 1999 by her loving husband of 53 years, James. Also preceding was a son, Robert in 2014, sisters: Marian and Isabelle, and brothers: Richard and Robert. Ruth's funeral is 12:00 noon Wednesday, July 3rd at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Friends are welcome to join Ruth's family from 11:00 AM until time of the funeral. Pastor Mike Delp, Chaplain at Commonwealth Hospice, will serve as the officiant.
