Roy L. Folk, 77 of Berwick, died Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Berwick Hospital Center Emergency Room. He was born September 12, 1938 in Berwick, a son to the late Jack and Verna (Heckard) Folk. Roy was a graduate of Berwick High School. He served in the Marine Corps 1954-58 and then worked as a heavy equipment operator for PPL until his retirement. Roy was a member of Oriental Lodge 460 of Orangeville and the Summerhill United Methodist Church. Hunting, woodworking, riding his four-wheeler, and baking bread were some of the things Roy enjoyed. He was known to many as the "Bread Man of Berwick." Roy was a family man who especially enjoyed the times he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchild. A kind and generous man, Roy will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Surviving Roy are son, David Folk and his wife, Joan of Nescopeck; daughters: Kimberly Farver of Berwick and Vicki Hendricks and her husband, David of Catawissa; grandchildren: Michael, Amanda, Kristie, and Adam; one great-grandchild; brother, Jack Folk and his wife, Linda of Ashland, sister-in-law Patricia, and niece, Rachel. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, the former Jean M. Seltzer in 1995. Also preceding were a son, Scott Allen in 1988 and a brother, Todd. Roy's funeral is 3:00 PM Tuesday, November 17 at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until time of the service. His pastor, Susan Knorr will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
