Rowena M. (Wright) Farver

Rowena M. (Wright) Farver, 86, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in her home.  Born in Berwick on May 10, 1935, she was a daughter to the late Carl and Leota (Young) Wright.

Rowena was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1954.  On April 8, 1957, she wed Jack W. Farver.  They shared 62 years of marriage prior to his passing on June 20, 2019.  Rowena was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Farver was a talented seamstress and had worked at several local garment manufacturers, as well as honing her craft recreationally.  She enjoyed volunteering; working at the Berwick Hospital Gift Shop and visiting local shut-ins.  Her greatest joy, however, was her family, by whom she will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Farver is survived by son:  David Farver of Harrisburg; grandchildren:  Jennifer Farver and Ryan Farver, both of Harrisburg; sisters:  Patricia Hunter of Berwick and Barbara Whitmire and husband, Harry, of Berwick.

In addition to her parents, Rowena was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Farver.  Also preceding her were daughter-in-law, Lisa Farver, and nephew, Scott Whitmire.

The Farver family would like to thank Rowena’s caregivers, Janet Henger and Karen Higgins, for the excellent care that they provided.

All are welcome to join Rowena’s family for her funeral 11 AM Monday, August 30, 2021 at Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E.
