Rose Mary (Streeshock) Naugle

Rose Mary (Streeshock) Naugle, 83, of Berwick passed away April 29, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center. Rose was born November 11, 1940, in Hazleton, PA, to the late Charles and Lucille (Genetti) Streeshock. On September 9, 1961, she married Lloyd M. Naugle, joyfully spending 53 years together until his passing in March 2014.

A graduate of Hazleton High School, Rose worked as a secretary early in her career and later retired from Weis Markets after 26 years as a cashier. After retirement she and Lloyd enjoyed traveling throughout the US including Maine, Tennessee, Branson, Florida, Alaska, and a cross country bus trip on Route 66. Rose also enjoyed word puzzles, dominoes & dinner nights, lunch with “the girls”, and watching football – where an afternoon of poor performance by her team could lead to a lesson in adult vocabulary. Her greatest joy was cooking and hosting holidays for her family. We will all miss her meatballs and sauce, apple pie, and Christmas cookies.

Rose is survived by her son, Dr. David L. Naugle of Hazleton; daughter, Lynn Y. Naugle of Mifflinburg; daughter, Luann M. Smith and her husband, David, of Elizabethtown; grandsons, Joshua and Zachary Naugle and their mother, Linda Haber; and her sister, Gloria Sawicki, of Lewisburg.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Martha Barretts, brother-in-law Lee Sawicki, and cousin Janet Howard.

Her funeral service will be 11 AM on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1600 Fowler Avenue, Berwick, PA 18603, where she had been a member for 52 years. Her viewing will be from 9 AM until the time of the funeral at 11 AM. Pastor Troy Spencer will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery Annex.
