Rose (Miknich) Kocerha

Rose (Miknich) Kocerha, 92, formerly of Berwick, passed away peacefully at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia on July 1, 2018. Born in Berwick March 21, 1926, she was a daughter to the late Nicholas and Julia (Klym) Miknich. Rose was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1945 and later attended the Jammel School of Cosmetology in Bloomsburg. In addition to homemaking, Rose worked as a hair stylist and operated her own salon, Rose's Beauty Salon in Berwick for years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Rose had a green thumb and loved gardening and the outdoors. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new places. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. A gracious, generous, grateful, and hard-working woman of great faith, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Surviving Rose are her children: Victor Felix, Jr. and wife, Janice, of Stillwater and Andrea Kocerha of Philadelphia, daughter-in-law: Lynn Felix, granddaughter: Kathryn (Katie) Grace Felix, sisters: Irene Bodwalk, Stephanie Tinney, Nancy Algatt, and Helen Sexton, and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her first husband: Victor Felix, and second husband: Andrew Kocerha, son: Kenneth Felix, and siblings: Kay Geczi, Ann Lupinski, Mary Miknich, Pauline Remley, Evelyn Dainowski, John Miknich, Michael Miknich, Sr., Charles Miknich, and Stephen Bodnar. All are welcome to join Rose's family for her viewing 6:00-8:00 PM, Thurday, July 5 at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 East Third Street, Berwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Friday, July 6 at Immaculate Conception Church, 1730 Fowler Avenue, Berwick. Very Reverend Francis J. Tamburro V.F. will serve as celebrant.
