Rose M. Crispell, 86, of Berwick, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at the Berwick Hospital Center. She was born August 22, 1930 in Mocanaqua, a daughter to the late Joseph and Maria (Gianborne) Gerace. Rose attended school in Berwick, graduating with the class of 1949. She moved to Philadelphia in 1957 and then to Cincinnati in 1958, where she was a secretary for a brokerage clearing house until 1963, when she began working as a secretary for the Brotherhood of Railroad until her retirement in 1983. A devoted Catholic, Rose was a member of the Blue Army at St. Joseph Church in Berwick. She also was a member of the Berwick Senior Citizens organization. Rose enjoyed playing pinochle with her sisters and doing crossword puzzles. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. As well as her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters: Frances John, Angeline Matusek, and Ann Spezialetti and brother, Leo Gerace. She was the last member of her immediate family. Special thanks are given to her devoted caregiver, Sandie Stewart and physician, Dr. Pavel Pribula. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Dennis Dalessandro 10:00 AM Friday, December 9 at St. Joseph Church, 721 Monroe St. Berwick. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 AM until time of the mass.
