Ronald Bruce Evans

Ronald Bruce Evans, 70, of Shickshinny, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 with his family at his side at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. He was born August 16, 1944 in Bloomsburg, a son to the late Harry and Dorothy (Cotterman) Evans. Ron served as a sergeant in the Army for three years. Afterwards, he worked as a union carpenter until retiring. He enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR, building hot rods, and observing deer in his backyard. Family time and activities were most important to him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Surviving Ron are his loving wife of forty-seven years, the former Diane Barna, four sons: Stephen and his wife, Grace of Mountaintop, Michael of Forty-Fort, Ronald and his wife, Sarah of Bloomsburg, and Jason of Bethlehem, and six grandchildren: Trevor, Madeline, Luke, Juliet, Stephen, and Rebeccah. As well as his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harry and Richard and step-brother, John. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday at St. Joseph Church, 721 Monroe St., Berwick. Fr. Michael Laicha will serve as the celebrant. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 AM until time of the mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Memorial contributions can be sent to St. Joseph Church.
