Roland B. Seybert

Roland B. Seybert, 90, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Celebration Villa of Berwick. Born in Berwick on January 9, 1934, he was a son to the late F. Howard and Grace M. (Kleckner) Seybert.

Mr. Seybert was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1951, and worked for his family’s business, Seybert Spring Water. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp from 1953-1956, and was deployed to the South Korea Border during the Korean Conflict. He took over the water business in 1958 and continued to operate it until 1986. Roland had also been an employee of Kawneer for 20 years prior to starting his own business as a draftsman in 1986. He was a member of Bethany Church of Berwick and previously a member of the First United Church of Christ in Berwick, where he had served as an elder. He had a lifelong attachment to Scouting, having been a Boy Scout himself and then serving as Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 6 in Berwick. He had also been a member of the Improved Order of Red Men, the Squires Go Cart Club, and a life member of East Berwick Hose Company. Roland had also served on the Salem Township Zoning Board. He was a man who loved to tinker; building, disassembling, or modifying nearly anything he came across. He also had a passion for model building. He took great pride in his property and enjoyed time spent maintaining and beautifying it.

Surviving Roland are his sons: John Howard Seybert and wife, Connie, of Montverde, FL, James Roland Seybert and wife, Tammy, of Danville, Craig Allen Seybert and wife, Tiffany, of Lebanon, and Dale Eugene Seybert and wife, Debbie, of Orlando, FL; grandchildren: Kristi Williams and husband Nicholas, Kyle Seybert and wife, Cassandra, Levi Seybert, Ashley Boyer and fiance, Brenden McKeever, Colton Seybert and fiancee, Alexandria Irardy, Bailey Seybert, Kyle Boyer, Nicholas Seybert and wife, Madison, Joshua Seybert, and Cansas Marie Seybert; great-grandchildren: Macklyn Williams, Grayson McKeever, Benjamin Seybert, Jayden Seybert, London Seybert, and Legend Seybert.

In addition to his parents, Roland was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Beverly E. (Wagner) Seybert, who passed away February 23, 2021. He was also preceded in death by siblings: Delvin Seybert and Noreen Oswald.

Roland’s services are private with his interment at Elan Memorial Park, Bloomsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Roland’s name may be made to Bethany Church of Berwick, 116 Summerhill Ave., Berwick, PA 18603 and/or Salem Township Volunteer Fire Co., 637 E. 5th Street, Berwick, PA 18603.
