Roger W. Keck

Berwick

Roger W. Keck, 85, of Berwick, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at Gino Merli Veterans’ Center in Scranton.  Born in Berwick on November 3, 1935, he was the son of the late Homer Keck and Ida (Davis) Keck.

He graduated from Berwick High School.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1958, stationed in California.  He received Airman of the Month.  After the military, he returned to Berwick and purchased the Briar Creek Hotel on Route 11.  He also worked at the Berwick Forge and as a mason with his brother, Tennis Keck.

Roger was a member of the Slavonic Club, American Legion Post 273, and VFW.  He was also a life member of the West End Hose Company.  Roger’s love of hunting, trapping, and fishing he taught and shared with his family and friends.

Roger will be greatly missed by his children:  Nile Keck and wife, Kim, Berwick, Lisa Fenstemaker and husband, Rick, Berwick, Todd Keck and wife, Shelby, Berwick, Micah Wells and husband, Jim, CA, Kim Gatliff and husband, Rich, OR, Pam Hartzell and husband, Bill, Mifflinville.  Roger also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Adam Keck, and brothers:  Tennis and Henry Keck.

A graveside service with military honors and burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Front Street, Berwick.  Pastor Scott Lyons of Stillwater Christian Church will officiate.  Memorial contributions in Roger’s name are suggested to Stephen Siller Tunnel to Tower Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 or to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
