Robert H. Kishbaugh, Sr.

July 22, 1945 — October 22, 2017

Robert H. Kishbaugh, Sr., 72, of Briar Creek Township, died unexpectedly, surrounded by his family, Sunday evening, October 22, 2017 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born July 22, 1945 in Beach Haven, a son to the late William C. and Edna A. (Kishbaugh) Kishbaugh. Bob was a graduate of Berwick High School Class of 1963. While in high school he worked at the former Billy Kistner Orchard in Beach Haven. After graduating he worked at the Rad Woodwork Company in Nescopeck until April, 1966 when he enlisted and served proudly in the Navy. After his discharge, he worked at the Wise Potato Chip Company, the Argo Company, and the PPL Company, from where he retired in 2010. His interests included hunting, fishing and woodworking, however; spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, was what he enjoyed most. He was a member of the Fishing Creek Sportsmen's Club and the Towers Club at PPL. Bob was a "storebook of useless knowledge," as he referred to himself. A kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Surviving Bob is his loving wife of 48 years, the former Theresa Bafunno. Also surviving are son, Robert H. Kishbaugh, Jr. and wife, Colette of Wapwallopen, daughter, Mary Bell and husband, Troy of UT., three grandchildren: Larry A. Fry, Jr. of Bloomsburg, Olivia Bercher and husband, Steven of DE., and Molly Bell of UT., two sisters: Susan Banks and husband, Richard and Sharon Spurga, both of Berwick, numerous nieces and nephews, and his best "furry friends": Wili and Miiah. As well as his parents, Bob was preceded in death by three brothers: William, Charles, and Henry, nephew, David Kishbaugh, and niece, Jeannine Lewis. All are welcome at Bob's viewings: 6-8 PM Wednesday and 11 AM-12 PM Thursday at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Funeral services with full military honors will be held at noon, Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Chad Hebrink of Grace Lutheran Church will serve as the officiant. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Disabled American Veterans, P. O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH. 45250-0301.
