Robert D. Golder

Robert D. Golder, 83, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 10, 2025 at The Gardens at Orangeville.  Born in Berwick on June 2, 1942, he was a son to the late Ernest Bryson and Bessie Mae (Hooper) Golder.

Mr. Golder was a graduate of Nescopeck High School, Class of 1961, and proudly served in the Army National Guard.  On October 1, 1966, he wed the former Bonnie J. Bloom, with whom he would share 58 years of marriage and raise his family.  Bob retired from Berwick Industries, where he had been employed for more than 50 years.  He loved sports, especially Notre Dame, the New York Mets, and the Miami Dolphins, and enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia.   He was also an avid stein collector.  Bob’s greatest joy was time spent with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren, by whom he will be greatly missed.

Surviving Bob are his wife, Bonnie J. (Bloom) Golder; son, Robert D. Golder, Jr. and wife, Tracy, of Williamsport; grandchildren:  Taylor Golder of Bloomsburg, Meghan Golder of Bloomsburg, Shane Bankes of Berwick, and Brittany Bankes of Wilkes-Barre; great-grandson, Evan; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Holly Golder, and siblings:  Eldora Bucher, Arlene Chea, Ernest Golder, Donald Golder, and William Rough.

Bob’s graveside memorial service will be 11 AM Friday, August 15, 2025 at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick.  Pastor Scott Winter will officiate.  Bob loved pets, especially his beloved Rottweilers, Taz and Nico.  In keeping with his love of pets, memorial contributions in his name may be made to Animal Resource Center, PO Box 439, Bloomsburg, PA 17815.  The Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the Golder family.  Online messages of comfort and support may be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com.
