Richard James Taylor, 87, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center Danville. He was born May 4, 1931 in Berwick, a son to the late Harold and Edna Mae (Duke) Taylor. A 1949 graduate of Berwick High School, Dick's first job was at Standard Pressed Steele in Jenkintown, PA. After a few years there he began working at Berwick Forge and Fabricating from where he eventually retired. Dick enjoyed working on his lawn and gardening. He was passionate about hunting and enjoyed the times he spent at his cabin. As he got older, his buddy, Joe would always look-in on him when he went to the cabin. Dick was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and a life member of the West Berwick Fire Company. He was married for 57 years to the love of his life, the former Sandra Ann Grassley. As well as Sandra, Dick is survived by three sons: Craig Taylor and wife, Jessica of Millville, Jeffrey Taylor and wife, Kristina of Berwick, and Michael Taylor of Hagerstown, MD., three grandchildren: Nicole, Matthew, and Jeffrey Taylor, and many nieces and nephews. Additionally preceding Dick in death were two sisters: Evelyn and Audrey and four brothers: Robert, Willis, Jack, and Frank. A good husband, father, grandfather and friend, Dick will be sorely missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known him. Graveside services at Rose Lawn Cemetery will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 2nd. Pastor Laura King will serve as the officiant.
