Richard L. Evans, 62, of Stillwater, went to be with his loving Lord and Savior, Jesus, Friday, May 18, 2018 after losing his courageous fight with cancer at Geisinger Medical Center Danville. He was born June 27, 1955 in Trenton, New Jersey, the second son to the late Leroy N. and Genevieve Lucy Ann (Welsh) Evans. After graduating from Pennsbury High School in Levittown, PA., Richard next earned an Associate's Degree from the Williamsport Area Community College, where he studied Home Building. His employment history included the former Data Com, Long's Supply, and Hess Hardware. Rich's last job was with the Atlantic Corporation, formerly owned by International Paper and Federal Paperboard. Rich enjoyed country living, feeding and observing birds, gardening, and most recently, raising chickens. Spending time with his family, however; was what he enjoyed the most. A kind and loving husband, father, pappy, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, Rich will be greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him. Surviving Rich is his loving wife of 21 years, the former Sherry Barnes. Also surviving are son, Robert Anthony Evans and wife, Veronica of Danville, treasured granddaughters: Alexis and Angelina, sister, Jacqueline V. Malloy and husband, Terry of Levittown, brothers: Michael Evans and wife, Karen of Levittown and Brian Evans, brothers-in-law: John M. Barnes, Edward R. I. Barnes of Bloomsburg, and Mark Hornberger, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-niece and nephews, and cousins, all whom he loved very much. As well as his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy N. Evans, Jr. Viewings are 6-8 PM Friday, May 25th at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick and 11 AM-12 noon Saturday, May 26th at the funeral home. Rich's funeral will immediately follow the Saturday viewing. Pastor Scott Winter of the Berwick Assembly of God will serve as the officiant. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
