Raymond S. Ash, Jr., 72, of Nescopeck, passed away peacefully at his residence Monday, February 23, 2015, after battling cancer for the past five years. He was born in Berwick November 5, 1942, a son of the late Raymond S., Sr. and Elizabeth (Grassley) Ash. After graduating from Berwick High School in 1962, Raymond worked at the Berwick Forge and Fabrication Company, the Fulton Lamp Company, and Berwick Lighting before retiring. He also served as a sergeant in the Pennsylvania National Guard for six years. Raymond was an avid hunter, especially for turkey and deer. He also enjoyed woodworking and handyman projects. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose work ethic and love and devotion to his family were inspiring to those who knew him. He will always be in our hearts. Surviving Raymond are his loving wife of 47 years, the former Agnes Camillocci, son, Cory Ash, Sr. and his wife, Natalie of Nescopeck, grandsons, Cory Ash, Jr. and Joshua Ash, granddaughters: Shayla and Sacora Ash, great- granddaughter, Madison Ash, sisters: Jane Miller of York and Lottie Ann Clark of Nescopeck, brother, Ed Ash of Berwick, and many nieces and nephews. As well as his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Woodley Ash in 2009, a brother, William Ash, and a sister, Sara Rex. A memorial service celebrating Raymond's life will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd Street, Berwick.
