Ray S. Evans, Jr.

Ray S. Evans, Jr., 79, of Berwick, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Berwick Hospital. He was born July 4, 1937, a son to the late Ray S. Evans, Sr. and Lillian (Tittle) Evans. Ray attended schools at Lime Ridge and North Centre Township. He worked as a shear operator at the former ARGO of PA plant, located in Berwick. Additionally, he worked on the family farm located in rural Bloomsburg. He enjoyed hunting and later developed a love of puzzles. Ray is survived by his step children; Connie M. Young of Orangeville, Marie A. Bedio and her husband, Michael, of Beach Haven, and Anthony Evans and his wife, Jane, of Berwick, brothers; Charles Evans, of Wisconsin, Paul Evans, of Georgia, and David Evans, of Berwick, and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 28 years, Betty (Davis) Evans. Also preceding are his brothers; Albert Evans and Luther Evans and sisters; Geraldine Kershner, Charlotte Rhone, and Ruth Evans. Ray's funeral will be held 11 AM Wednesday, October 5th at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd Street, Berwick. Pastor Chad Hebrink of Grace Lutheran Church will serve as officiant. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park.
