Ralph Eugene Allen, Jr.

Ralph E. Allen, Jr., 56, of Berwick, passed away unexpectedly in his home Monday, October 24, 2016. He was born in Berwick December 15, 1959, a son to Ralph and Gloria (Klinger) Allen. He was a graduate of Berwick High School and lived and worked his entire life in the Berwick community. His work history included working at Seidel's Meat Market and Walker's Jewelers for many years as well as doing odd jobs for local businesses in Berwick and playing Santa Claus at the Christmas Boulevard and Simmon's Studio. He also served for years as a faithful school crossing guard. Ralph enjoyed spending time with his family and friends going to flea markets, line dancing, looking at old cars, and doing crafts. He was well known around Berwick by many people who enjoyed his love, friendship, kindness, willingness to help, and caring personality. A blessing to so many people, he will be greatly missed. Ralph is survived by his parents, brothers: Clayton and wife, Rhonda of Mifflinville, Harvey and wife, Lori of Berwick, and Paul and wife Sandy of Catawissa, sisters: Dorothy Baskin and husband, Brad of Mifflinville, Joy Mitchell and husband, Kirt of Catawissa, and Sarah Kile and husband, Jonathan of Berwick, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance for Ralph will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, October 29 at the Kelchner-McMichael-Baker Funeral Home, 119-121 E. 3rd St., Berwick. Pastor Gretchen Johannsen will serve as the celebrant. Burial will follow at Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
