Phyllis Nancy Dibattista

Phyllis Nancy DiBattista, 90, of Berwick, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Maria Hall Hospice, Danville. She was born April 27, 1928 in Berwick, a daughter to the late Henry and Erma (Pecunia) Dellegrotti. Phyllis was a graduate of Berwick High School Class of 1946. Early in her adult life she was an operator at the Bell Telephone Company, where she was known as the "Voice with a Golden Smile." Most of her adult life, however, was spent nurturing her family. She volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Brownie leader. She enjoyed antiquing with her daughter, Patricia, hosting family gatherings, especially during the holidays, playing bingo, hairdresser appointments, having breakfast twice a week with the girls, and faithfully going to mass every Saturday evening followed by dinner with her best friends. A kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Phyllis will be sorely missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. Surviving Phyllis are son, Ralph DiBattista, Jr. and wife Renee of Leesburg, VA., daughters: Mary Rose Rosini and husband, Michael of TN., and Patricia Herman and her companion, Brett Gray of Berwick, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. As well as her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ralph Louis DiBattista, Sr., to whom she was married for 57 years. She was also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Alex. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Very Reverend Francis J. Tamburro V. F. 11:00 AM Friday, July 13th at Phyllis's church: St. Joseph Catholic Church, 721 Monroe Street, Berwick.
