Pendrid Lee "Penny" Slusser, 79, of Berwick, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020. Born in Berwick June 10, 1940, she was a daughter to the late Harry and Betty (Bower) Sult. Penny was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1958. She continued her education at Bloomsburg University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in psychology. Penny was a member of Faith United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nescopeck. A consummate musician, she was a well-known piano and organ teacher and had been a church organist for more than 50 years. Penny especially enjoyed teaching children and started one of the first musicgartens in Berwick. She instilled a love of music in children that lead to many of her students continuing their education, even obtaining Masters Degrees in music related fields of study. In addition to music, Penny also loved baking. In her younger years, she was known for her homemade pies, cakes, sticky buns and even wedding cakes. Surviving Penny is her husband, Sterling Slusser. Also surviving are her sons: Stephen, Gary, Scott, and Chris, nine grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. As a consequence of the current pandemic situation, Penny's services will be private.
