Pauline N. Maurer, 94, formerly of Herndon, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at Lanier Place Assisted Living in Cumming, Georgia, where she had been a resident for the past six years to be near her son and daughter-in-law. She was born in Leck Kill, Pennsylvania June 6, 1921, a daughter to the late Peter and Clara (Gessner) Kahler. Pauline was a graduate of Leck Hill High School , class of 1939. She was a homemaker who lived most of her life in Herndon with her loving husband, William F. Maurer, whom she married on Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1942. Most recently, she was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Red Cross, Pennsylvania. Surviving Pauline is her son, Kerry P. Maurer and his wife, Angela of Cumming, GA., granddaughters: Emily Higgins and her husband, Jason of Bloomsburg and Adrienne Maurer, also of Bloomsburg, and great-grandsons: Isaiah and Carter Higgins. As well as her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by husband, William(1988) and siblings: Helen Deppen, Lee Kahler, Guy Kahler, Raymond Kahler, George Kahler, Lula Lahr, Daisy Kieffer, and Rachel Shaffer. Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, February 5 at the Northumberland Memorial Park Chapel, Stonington. Her son, Reverend Doctor Kerry P. Maurer, will preside.
